  2. I cannot help but think of the many wonderful times I was able to share with Craig throughout our association in Church Education. As the late Coleman Jacobson used to tell me, "It's just not fair that you get to work for Craig Olsen..."We will all miss him dearly. May the pain of separation be swallowed up in the love and Atonement of our Savior. Judy, we pray for you and your wonderful family.

  4. Your father was one of my religion teachers as he and Sister Olson served their mission here in Hawaii at BYU-Hawaii. I would see them every day at the Polynesian Cultural Center. The world lost one of it's best, and I know the heavens gained an angel. I am truly blessed to have had your father a part of my journey here at BYU-Hawaii. He will be dearly missed, but I'm glad that he no longer in pain. My deepest condolences, love and prayers to your family at this time. How blessed are we? To know that families can be together forever. I pray for comfort for your family, especially Sister Olson.

  7. He was a great teacher, a great friend, and most of all, a great representative of the Lord. It was a great semester with Elder Olsen until that bad news came, the cancer has returned. Still remember couple days after I heard about the bad new, I met him in Laie Hawaii temple, he had a big smile on his face, he walked to me and and shook my hand, said, "it it so nice to see you in the temple, you look great." This is Elder Olson, always showing people his big smile, his love for them, and his willingness to serve others even when he is suffering from pain and afflictions. Rest in peace, Elder Olson. Your teaching and example will stay with us forever. With Love.

  8. Elder Olsen was the first person I met at BYUH - my first teacher of my first class of my first year in Hawaii haha How lucky I was for that! what a great impression he left on me from the first day right until the day he and sister Olsen left the island. I especially loved to see him in his Aloha shirt at the Polynesian Cultural Center hand in hand usually with lovely sister Olsen with their contagious smiles! Im sure they left a lasting impression of love on so many they came in contact with there at the center they way they had on so many of us students on campus. Im so glad that I was fortunate enough to cross paths with them in this earthly life and benefit from their great examples. We love you Elder and Sister Olsen!

  9. I remember when I first came from Samoa to BYU-Hawaii, I missed home a lot but having him as my professor was one of the greatest gift I will never forget. He would shake my hand and looked me in the eye, calling me by name and said, "I'm happy to see you today." Simple things that meant a lot to me. I love seeing him with Sister Olson at PCC and climbed coconut trees many times before him. A really humble servant of the Lord. You may be gone, but your legacy will live forever in my heart. I will see you soon, my Professor, my leader, my Friend. Rest In Peace and God speed till we meet again.

  13. School was hard for me in many ways, but Brother Olson was one of the lights who shined and kept me going during some particularly challenging semesters. He shared with us his challenges during one class, but his bright smile never flickered. This spoke volumes of his faith; faith that gave him tremendous peace and allowed him to receive a lot of satisfaction from his efforts. That faithful joy from teaching young people of Christ undoubtedly sustained him through his struggles, for not one of his students could imagine him complaining. He was our hero! He brought me closer to Christ when I needed Him most. Brother Olson was able to do that because of his own close friendship with the Savior. God bless your family at this time, thank you for allowing us to share our thoughts and memories.

  17. Bro. Olson and Sister Olson were an amazing example of an eternal companionship while I was attending BYU-Hawaii. I took to religion classes from Bro. Olson and learned so much from him, not only that but I felt a beautiful spirit every time that I went to class. He cared so much about his students and I am so grateful for him and his wife's willingness to serve us. A little thing that I remember is that I had a class that was three hours long and in the middle of the class we got a break. Bro. Olson would always walk by and sit and talk to me and my friend Jenny and bring us trail mix. We love him so much and are so sad to hear of his passing but are happy that he is no longer in pain. Thank you so much Olson family for sharing your father with so many young students who need a great example of a worthy priesthood holder in their lives.

  18. I came all the way from Africa to study at BYUH and I met Craig and his wife. Craig was my religion teacher at BYUH and a good friend. Taking a class from him was an exciting journey of learning. I can still remember his smiling face when we first met. He wanted to know about me and my family, even though it was the first time that we met. It was interesting because my son was just born right before taking Craig's class and I named him Craig. One of his joke was to tell: Yengo you named your son after me, right? and we will launch a little bit. Outside of class he was always available to listen to all the students. He would stop on the street just to shake my hand. He was a friend to all students here at BYUH and we will miss him a lot. Craig cared about people and loved them for what they are regardless of your cultural background. There is only one place that can accommodate someone like Craig, and that place is paradise. I know that Craig is in paradise right now, so I won't cry because I know that in couple of years (100 or less or more) we will meet again and rejoice for the work done while on earth. You deserve to rest in peace and in my heart your name will always remain.

I am happy that I made the right choice by calling my son Craig. I pray that he will have a heart even bigger than yours, I will pray that he grows into a righteous and diligent man just as you have been.

Love you Craig and your wife.

  19. We were so happy to have the Olson's in BYUH 7th Ward as mentors. What bright lights they were for us. I'll never forget sitting on their lanai, looking at the beautiful ocean view with them one last time before they went back to Arizona. It was a perfect, peaceful moment. May that peace and comfort be with you, Judy, and all your family as you go on. We love you. Dean and Lisa Ellis

  20. Elder Olson was my religion professor at BYUH, and I immediately connected with him and Judy and felt so loved. To this day, he is my favorite person I ever knew in all my time at Hawaii. When I struggled he gave me sound gospel-center advice and reminded me all that I was worth. He was always happy and always selfless to all of the students, and his was the only class I didn't want to skip. I can picture him with our Savior Jesus Christ, and I know that Christ is so proud of him and glad to have his brother home to stay. He was a light to everyone who knew him, and to this day my husband Aaron and I still say that when we grow up, we want to be just like Brother and Sister Olson. I love Brother Olson so much, and I pray he knows how much of my life now to his mentoring and Christ-like love. Judy, we love you so very much and want you to know that your marriage was an example to all of the students at BYUH. We love you.

  23. Whenever brother Olsen saw me he had a big smile for me. He would shake my hand I would smile widely back and he would always say "Keep Smiling!" He did that every single time he saw me. That always made my day! especially on those days when I was having a hard time with school or something else. I love him and miss Him dearly. The Olsens were a great addition to BYU-Hawaii. It was a better place because of Elder and Sister Olsen. Aloha Oe Brother Olsen till we meet again

  24. It was my opportunity to coordinate the missionaries at BYU-Hawaii and Elder and Sister Olsen were two of the best missionary couples we've had. They were a great team, both in the classroom, in their ward assignment, and so many other roles they were willing to assume. It's difficult to imagine this world without him but grateful that he's no longer experiencing pain. Our very best to Sister Olsen--they are such great blessings in our lives. --Bill and Dianna Neal

  25. I was not able to get to be around them so close. However, everytime I see them, they would always smile at me with warm love. I knew that they are wonderful people just by looking at them. He was such a wonderful missionary who radiated the spirit of God everywhere he go. Rest in Peace elder Olson.
